October 2009 Events for the New River Group of the Sierra
Club:
Wednesday, October 21
3rd Wednesdays at 5. Meet at 5 pm at Jabo's Coffee Shop, at the corner of
Merrimac Rd. and Business 460. Note new location. We will take care of any
immediate Sierra Club business, catch up on environmental news, and enjoy the
good company. A regular event for the New River Group. map>>
7:15, General meeting after 5 pm dinner. Speaker: Jackie Feingold of the
Southern Utah Wilderness Association. Blacksburg Community Center (on Patrick
Henry Drive). map>>
Saturday, October 24
Angel's Rest one way hike, meeting at the Kroger at 8:30 a.m. This is a long
hike (about 9.5 miles), but not strenuous except for the one-and-a-half mile
descent. Folks should RSVP Maria.Bowling@gmail.com so that we'll have enough
cars at the end.
