Urban Sprawl

Are you and your community suffering from a severe case of sprawl? Northern Virginia is afflicted with the same out-of-control land development patterns that infect many metropolitan areas, with trees and open space being leveled for townhouses, traffic congestion worsening, some suburban areas deteriorating, and environmental quality declining. Meanwhile, our political leaders either ignore the problem or complain that their hands are tied and there is nothing they can do.

We at the Great Falls Group of the Sierra Club believe we can make a difference. To learn more about sprawl, check out: "Dollars & Sense" the economic case for public transportation in America. "Dollars and Sense" was released by the Campaign for Efficient Passenger Transportation, a coalition of transportation, business, environmental, labor and community groups dedicated to progressive transportation policy.
